Our mission

Shifting capital toward Black self-determination

The mission of the Black Food Fund is to fuel Black-led food systems transformation across the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to shift capital in ways that build wealth, self-determination, and resiliency for Black people within our regional food system.

How we move capital

Three streams of the same current

Our partners

01

Capital for Black farmers and land stewards

We recover financial capital and redirect it as unrestricted grants to Black farmers and land stewards across Oregon and Washington.

02

Black land justice

We fund Black-led land acquisition and stewardship projects that integrate Afro-Indigenous practice, communal healing, and community ownership.

03

Advocacy & coalition building

We organize farmers in our network and build alliances that push for Black-specific, systemic investment in our regional food system.
